Artist in Focus

I'm a freelance illustrator from Cheshire...since graduating university I have worked in all areas of design...from Graphic Artist to Design Manager.

I finally took the plunge to go freelance five years ago. To me it's the best job ever! I get to work on a variety of projects and each day is a new challenge.

As well as greeting cards, I work on book illustrations, character designs and various graphic design projects. I also do a range of personalised childrens' canvases and name plaques with my illustrations idea I started after being unable to find a suitable gift for my nieces.

Growing up I was always drawing...I never doubted what I wanted to do for a living. Illustrators such as Tony Ross and Quentin Blake inspired me to follow my dreams to become an illustrator. My friends and family tease me about how I 'colour in' for a living!

My style has always been quite quirky and fresh. In the past 15 years it has varied a lot. As an illustrator you are constantly absorbing everything around you, bringing together new ideas. I enjoy making people smile with my illustrations, an added bonus of what I do!
