     Are you feeling the winter blues like we are? Cold nights, dark skies when you get home from work, pyjamas and wine at the ready, sofa calling your name to find that perfect spot for the rest of the evening...

    This Valentine's day, why not try our sweet and sensual recipe for dinner? Breakfast food is always a great idea, no matter what time of the day it is.

    Also, food equals love, and who doesn't want to be loved on these cold winter nights, when you just want to step through the door after a long day at the office, whip up something quick for dinner and Netflix and chill? Either with your significant other, your friends or hell, even with yourself.

    But what is this delightfully moreish recipe we hear you ask? Well, let us give you a starts with P and ends in cake (as most good things do) got it, PANCAKES. Pancake kebabs with fruit and dark chocolate, and there is absolutely no need to count calories with these as they are pretty healthy.


    (serves 2...or 1, whatever floats your boat)


    2 skewers (either metal or wood)

    Mixing bowl


    Pancake pan





    Clear glass bowl

    Wooden spoon

    Wire rack


    Coconut oil

    2 eggs

    1 ripe banana

    1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste (or essence but the paste is more flavoursome)

    Fruit of choice (we used bananas, strawberries and a slice of orange for good measure)

    70% dark chocolate (you decide on the amount - no judgement)

    N.B: You could also make this recipe super indulgent by skipping the fruit and adding marshmallows and jammy dodgers instead. Just saying.


    - Pop the kettle on

    - Whilst waiting, mash the banana in a mixing bowl

    - Crack the eggs in and whisk until batter is smooth

    - Add in vanilla bean paste and continue stirring

    - Heat pan and then drop a teaspoon of coconut oil into it

    - Once melted, grab your ladle and depending on the size of your pancake pan, drop some batter into the pan to make your mini pancakes (my regular sized pan allowed about 4 to 5 at a time)

    - Cook on a medium heat for 30 seconds each side and then place on a wire rack so they don't get soggy when you continue cooking the rest of the batter mix

    - Once done, chop up your fruit and start to assemble the kebabs whilst your chocolate melts...

    - THE CHOCOLATE - Pour boiling water into the saucepan and fill (but don't let the water touch the bottom of the glass bowl)

    - Break chocolate into glass bowl and place bowl in saucepan

    - Stir occasionally and until chocolate has melted

    - Place kebabs on plates with poncily positioned orange slices and drizzle with the chocolate

    ET VOILA! Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

  • December launch and Christmas party antics - Fa la la la laaa, la la la la!

     The highly anticipated launch day is finally upon us! And there's a distinct theme in the air the shape of a turkey (vegetarians, LOOK AWAY!)

    The sales reps and the rest of the office were all eagerly awaiting the arrival of the production team, ready for the big reveal of new product...when all of a sudden, they could hear a rather loud, high pitch gobble-gobble sound coming from behind the door and were then greeted by eight gobbling turkeys, all led by our Creative Director - or 'Head Turkey' as she is affectionately known. As you can imagine, there were plenty of turkey based jokes and puns flying around the place, which made it a bit difficult to present our new ranges with a straight face.

    Move along now, nothing to see here. Just a bunch of turkeys putting their heads together for new make sure they don't get STUFFED next year!

    Another successful launch took place and our sales reps were very pleased with what we had on offer, from scenic Z folds and intricate laser cutting, to shiny copper foils and a ridiculous amount of glitter. The Paperlink team have been working extremely hard to bring you some fresh, exciting product for the new year, and what with it being one of our biggest launches of the year due to all the Christmas product, we were all very much looking forward to letting our hair down at the office Christmas party later that evening.

    And now, we interrupt this blog post with a short, turkey-based joke:

    Why can't you take the Paperlink Production Turkeys to church? Because they use such FOWL launguage (tut tut)

    It's now time for the office Christmas party. Everybody was dressed in their finery and off we headed to the Radisson Blu Edwardian Grafton in Soho. We had a beautiful room with mirrors all around the walls (no secrets would go unnoticed in there!) and naturally, a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, all washed down with copious amounts of Prosecco and wine (let's avoid the drinking puns, eh?) A well deserved evening, with some really great secret santa gifts, including some arty bean socks, a dirty joke book, a customised Barbie doll and a toilet golf game - handy!

    We ended the night with some old school R&B in the disco room and turkey-trotted the night away! Another spirited and entertaining Christmas party.

    We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year - here's to 2017, we're all going to be awesome!

  • Coffee, tea and a chocolate biccie please...

     Here we all are at another very important ideas meeting, discussing who will be sporting the red polka dot bikini in this year's cheeky Christmas calendar...only joking! We already know that our Creative Director is the chosen one...only joking.

    It's that time of year again where we have just come to the end of another fantastic launch filled with new innovative product and it's now time to find some new ideas and inspiration out there in the big wide world. We have to admit, the research trip just before Christmas is the most distracting of many pretty, glittery, shiny things steering us away from the task in hand. Well, it is Christmas after all and it would be rude of us not to answer to the call of that delightful looking gold, glitter encrusted, geometric patterned, glass bauble over there!

    Aside from the distractions, it's also one of our favourite times of the year because it means we get to see lots of new design ideas, especially on gifts and packaging. Endless new design trends and finishes to tantalise our tastebuds, which will assist in inspiring new card ranges and designs. And not forgetting the most important part of our day of course...lunch.

    Back at the office, we gather our findings together and have a very long discussion about trends we picked up on, new colour pallettes, different ways finishes have been used and generally anything new we found of particular interest, all washed down with endless cups of tea and a cheeky plate of biscuits. Naturally. Taking everything on board, we then put together mood boards and discuss potential new ideas for new ranges and the designers get to work on brainstorming and putting new concepts together. Which, in turn, involves another meeting where we look at how we can develop the range in order to spread it across a large number of designs. Then the real fun can begin, the designs themselves and the completion of another new cutting-edge range of cards.

    We hope this has been an enlightening glimpse into our world of creativity.

    PG Live 2016

    We love interiors here at Paperlink. Show us a Heal's catalogue or a copy of Elle decor and we're all over it like a rash! So imagine our excitement and the challenge of creating a new look for our stand at PG Live this year! We were inspired by the colonial trends of the moment and we love the retro feel so had fun sourcing this gorgeous Danish teak sideboard and ever so cool clock. A trip to Ikea meant a car fit to burst with these gorgeous plants and a few (ahem) essentials for the office. The fab concrete effect wallpaper came from and we got creative with granite spray and plastic tubs to create these concrete effect plant pots. We love it so much we're already thinking about what to do for next year!

    April launch of lovely new product!

     Feeling inspired by Spring and and new beginnings, we have been working very hard on our new launch. Admittedly we had a little help to keep the energy levels up with chocolate (even though Easter feels like such a long time ago) especially as the weather has been a little on the erratic side. Influenced by that fresh, floral sparkle that Spring brings we've created a new contemporary range called Primrose Hill; pretty, bright, watercolour images of nature with more than a smattering of flitter.

    ...And yes, we know! Our much anticipated next humour range has been a while in coming but it really has been worth the wait! Clean, crisp pop art coupeld with punchy editorial helps Down at the Diner really shout out from the shelf. Hope you like...

    We have to admit to feeling a bit jaded today -  yes it's the morning after the Christmas party! We try ever so hard to do things in moderation, except that is when it comes to this annual event and this year was no exception. Bodo's Schloss, an Austrian wonderland was this year's venue, so it was time to don the ledenhosen and plaits and enjoy an off piste adventure! We always start the evening off with Secret Santa and this year found us opening pineapple cocktail glasses, a Tamagochi, salt and vinegar crisp earrings and a boob stress ball!! We'll let the pictures do the talking for us. Merry Christmas Everyone!!

  • The Henries 2015

     Every year the greeting card industry has a big party in honour of all the fab cards produced. Here they are awarded with the ultimate prize - a Henries trophy! It's a night that us here at Paperlink look forward to and this year was no exception. It gives us the chance to catch up with all the other lovely publishers and have a couple (or few) glasses of wine...This year it was the Henries' 20th anniversary so it had a Roaring 20's theme, with sequins and feathers filling the room. It's always great to see all of the fantastic outfits and to see all the effort that Jakki and Warren put in to make sure that the evening is enjoyed by all.

    It started with a lovely glass of bubbly at the Windles' pre-dinner drinks...

    and then some more lovely bubbly...

    followed by a little bit more...

    and then some wine...

    and then some more...

    and then just one little glass...

    Our comedian for the evening was Mark Watson, who did a fantastic job of warming everyone up ready for the award announcements. We were lucky enough to get our photo taken with him at the end of the evening which we're sure he really appreciated!

    Paperlink were nominated for the Best Service award but alas, this year it wasn't meant to be, however Lucy from Customer Services came away with a prize of her own! Congratulations to all the winners x
